Report of 'The 10th Central European Conference - Chemistry towards Biology'

The tenth edition of the “Chemistry towards Biology” conference (CTB10) was held in Bratislava, Slovakia, on 11–14 September 2022 at the same time as the European Infrastructure Instruct Meeting. The Instruct Consortium supports advances in structural biology research, especially the connection between atomic structure and molecular properties in a cellular context. The topics of “Chemistry towards Biology 10—Instruct” meeting (https://www.instruct.sav.sk/index.html) were the structure and dynamics of biomolecules, intermolecular interactions, and experimental and theoretical methods in biomolecular research. In total, 93 active participants from 10 countries around the world presented their novel results. The conference programme ( https://www.instruct.sav.sk/programme.html ) consisted of nine plenary and fifteen invited lectures. In addition to these interesting papers, the participants could experience thirteen interesting oral presentations, four short papers by PhD students and forty posters presented mainly by young colleagues. The topics encompassed mainly experimental and theoretical methods in structural biology (https://www.instruct.sav.sk/book_abstracts.pdf ).

A special issue “Chemistry towards Biology” with 28 papers has been published in International Journal of Molecular Sciences ( https://www.mdpi.com/journal/ijms/special_issues/CtB-2020 ) together with “Chemistry towards Biology – Instruct”: Snapshot ( https://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/23/23/14815 ). The authors of this manuscript are plenary speakers, other important participants of the symposium, and members of their research teams.

The programme and details are available at the conference’s website: https://www.instruct.sav.sk/index.html.
